“Mr. Stadler is a talented artist and author who understands children very well. Children find his simple illustrations captivating. Our students were rapt watching him demonstrate the many steps he had to take from drawing the illustrations of his book to its final publication. The children eagerly and enthusiastically asked questions. Mr. Stadler answered all questions with care. Mr. Stadler has great rapport with children.”

“A premier program that is held annually during Children’s Book Week is Bookamania, a day-long celebration of children, books and children’s authors and illustrators. For two years in a row Alexander Stadler graced the Chicago Public Library with his presence at this event. Not only did he spend Bookamania with the kids of the city of Chicago, but, for two days prior to the event he conducted visits with children at nearby library branches. Children, ages 7-9 were filled with wonder as they interacted with, talked to and created a Beverly craft with Alexander. Teachers stated that Alexander was a real treasure, for he gave the children so much of himself and they are now so eager to read more of his books or books like his.”

“It was thrilling for me, as your first grade teacher, having known you at the very beginning of your life as a reader and writer, to have you return as a published author, sharing your work with the students starting out with me now. The circle felt beautifully complete.”

“Alexander not only knows how to write for children, he knows how to talk to children. His exuberance in the classroom matches the exuberance of his illustrations.”
